New Business to Be Headquartered in Westchester
A new company is coming to Westchester.
The Westchester County Office of Economic Development and Industrial Development Agency (IDA) announced today that Sabra Dipping Company is planning to relocate its headquarters to White Plains.
On November 4, the IDA's Board approved a package of financial incentives designed to woo the popular hummus producer from Astoria, Queens to the County. Sabra has agreed to move to 30,000 square feet of leased space at 777 Westchester Avenue in White Plains.
As a result of the move, the company's 33 full-time employees will be kept on and an additional 32 new full-time positions are expected to be created in Westchester in the next four years.
In an effort to keep Sabra and its employees in New York State, the firm was able to take advantage of the IDA's Small Business Program matched with Empire State Development's incentives with a combined value of $100,000.
Westchester's Director of Economic Development, Larry Gottlieb, is thrilled with the company's planned relocation, noting Sabra is joining an impressive roster of globally recognized companies in the food and beverage industry including Kraft Foots, PepsiCo and Dannon. Said Gottlieb, "This is another sign that Westchester is emerging from the Great Recession and laying the groundwork for a stronger economic future. "
Ronen Zohar, the CEO of Sabra Dipping Company, LLC said the company is looking forward to its move to Westchester. Zohar says the company "Considered multiple criteria in selecting a home for Sabra's new headquarters and Westchester had much to offer," adding, "the County put forth a competitive package which met our needs from a business perspective and they went the extra mile to facilitate a smooth process."
