Jury Deliberations Begin in Case of Sleepy Hollow Detective
The police brutality case of Sleepy Hollow Detective Jose Quinoy is now in the hands of a jury. Closing arguments in the case wrapped up Monday and Judge Kenneth M. Karas gave the panel instructions today.
Quinoy is accused of attacking two men who were in police custody, allegedly using a stun gun on one of them. Quinoy took the stand in his own defense during the three week trial, and maintained the suspects acted aggressively and that they forced him to have to subdue them.
Jose Quinoy is charged with two counts of violating civil rights as well as tampering with a witness.
he faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 on the civil rights violation charges and up to 20 years behind bars if found guilty of the witness tampering charge.
